Rising Stars Competition Team

Our “Rising Star” Competition continues to be a great success and we are happy to continue it in the 2026-2027 season! Our “Rising Star” team is for dancers in grades 2+ who would like the opportunity to compete without the intense requirements of our elite team. This team will compete in the novice/intermediate level at 3-4 competitions next season. We will have a jazz/musical theatre team and a tap team in each of the levels. Dancers can choose to compete in either one or both genres. Additionally, in Rising Stars 3s we offer a contemporary competition team.

Class Requirements:
Jazz/Musical Theatre team:
Dancers must enroll in either a ballet/jazz class, jazz class or a musical theatre class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below.

Rising Stars I - grades 2-4: 

Tuesdays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)

Tuesdays 5:45-6:30 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)

Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-7:  

Fridays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)

Fridays 5:45-6:30 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)

Rising Stars III – approx.. gr. 7-9

Mondays 5:45-6:30 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)

*Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:30-7:45.

Rising Stars IV - approx. gr. 10+: 

Wednesdays 8:45-9:30 (jazz/musical theater competition class)

*Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 6:25-7:40.

Tap team:
Dancers must be enrolled in a tap or tap/hip hop combo class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below:

Rising Stars I - grades 2-4:    

Tuesdays 4:15-5:00 (tap competition class)             
Tuesdays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)

Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-7:  

Fridays 4:15-5:00 (tap competition class)

Fridays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)

Rising Stars III – approx.. gr. 7-9

Wednesdays 5:45-6:30 (tap competition class)
*Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:30-7:45.
 

Rising Stars IV - approx. gr. 10+: 

Tuesdays 8:3-9:00 (tap competition class)
*Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 6:25-7:40.

Contemporary Team: 

Dancers must be enrolled in a contemporary class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below:

Rising Stars III – approx.. gr. 7-9

Thursdays 7:45-8:30 (contemporary competition class)
*Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:30-7:45.

We will be aiming to compete in 3-4 locally held dance competitions.  These are generally on a Saturday or Sunday (occasionally a Friday night) and will begin around February/March.  

This is a great opportunity and learning experience for the girls.  Team members build lasting bonds and learn a sense of commitment and working together.  Self-esteem reaches a new level as does their desire to learn.  My teachers and I are looking forward to working with you and truly hope you will enroll in the class. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!!
