Rising Stars Competition Team

Our “Rising Star” Competition continues to be a great success and we are happy to continue it in the 2025-2026 season! Our “Rising Star” team is for dancers in grades 2+ who would like the opportunity to compete without the intense requirements of our elite team. This team will compete in the novice/intermediate level at 3-4 competitions next season. We will have a jazz/musical theatre team and a tap team in each of the levels as well as a contemporary team for our Rising Star IIs and III/IVs. Dancers can choose to compete in either one or multiple genres. 

Class Requirements:
Jazz/Musical Theatre team:
Dancers must enroll in either a ballet/jazz class, jazz class or a musical theatre class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below.

Rising Stars I - grades 2-5: 
Tuesdays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)
Tuesdays 5:50-6:45 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)

Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-9:  
Mondays 5:45-6:30 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:15-7:30.

Rising Stars III/IV - approx. gr. 9+: 
Wednesdays 8:30-9:15 (jazz/musical theater competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 7:15-8:30.

Tap team:
Dancers must be enrolled in a tap or tap/hip hop combo class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below:

Rising Stars I - grades 2-5:    
Tuesdays 4:15-5:00 (tap competition class)                               
Tuesdays 5:00-5:45 (ballet/stretch class)

Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-9: 
Thursdays 7:30-8:15 (tap competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:15-7:30.

Rising Stars III/IV - approx. gr. 9+: 
Mondays 8:30-9:15 (tap competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 7:15-8:30.

Contemporary Team: 
Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-9:
Mondays 8:20-9:05 (contemporary competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Thursday ballet/lyrical class 6:15-7:30.

Rising Stars III/IV - approx. gr. 9+: 
Tuesdays 8:00-8:45 (contemporary competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 7:15-8:30.

We will be aiming to compete in 3-4 locally held dance competitions.  These are generally on a Saturday or Sunday (occasionally a Friday night) and will begin around February/March.  

This is a great opportunity and learning experience for the girls.  Team members build lasting bonds and learn a sense of commitment and working together.  Self-esteem reaches a new level as does their desire to learn.  My teachers and I are looking forward to working with you and truly hope you will enroll in the class. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!!
